My name is actually Aimee Beth Sandell, and I can't figure out how to fix it this late at night!
The reason that brings me to this website is that Eric Burdon is my absolute favorite artist, ever. He even beat Thom E. Yorke of Radiohead, whom I have idolized for years. I just got into Eric about two years ago when my boyfriend, who is co-founder of a very popular music festival in Northern Michigan, put me on thier staff. I started off as thier head volunteer coordinater, then upscaled to one of the main photographers. We had Buddy Guy perform in 2009 along with Galactic, then in 2010 we had Mickey Hart and Phil Kruetzmann (members from Grateful Dead) had thier band "Rhythmn Devils" perform at our festival. We also had Keller Williams, who is a phenomenal musician perform as well, and meeting all them had me seek deeper into the realm of good music. Being introduced to these famous and surprisingly very nice people gave me an interest in finding what my soul loves when it comes to the sound of rock 'n' roll. It ended up being mostly 60's, Blues, Folk, Bluegrass and British Rock.
This is when I fell in love with legends such as Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, The Animals, War, The Who, The Beatles, Buddy Guy, Grateful Dead and so on. Before I heard The Animals, Eric Burdon actually popped up on my way home from the last day of our festival in 2009. I was hungover, tired and in dire need of a shower. Though only living 13 miles from the festival site I didn't have time to bathe, I barely ate and fraternizing with my favorite festival friends and staff members was not something I could ignore. Then out of the car stereo the song "Spill the Wine" popped on. I really liked it but the DJ didn't tell the audience who it was (probably thinking we would already know it by now). It took me months to find out, and I found out by googling the lyrics!
The thing that attracted me to Eric was his awesome voice, his screams when he gets excited in his songs and I enjoyed watching him in videos. Then I noticed I was pulling more towards his music with The Animals than with War. War is an awesome band, don't get me wrong, but with the 60's itch in me I have to say The Animals are currently my favorite band.
And to be able to see them for the first time ever, on April 21st, has me on cloud nine. For the first time I am going to be front stage, dead center, watching my favorite artist ever perform in front of my eyes. How excited can a 32 year old girl be? I even bought an extra ticket so I can get the front stage tickets (though I admit it was easy to get my music addicted friend Jeremy to come!).
So there you have it. This is what brings me to Eric Burdon's website.

Comment by Ida on February 15, 2012 at 12:37pm Cool!. I am in my 30s as well. I discovered Eric about 2 years ago when someone uploaded "House of the Rising Sun" on Facebook. I first heard that when I was about 8 or 9. I had gotten into my moms old record collection and that was my absolute favorite. I had never seen or didn't really know the artists name at that time. When I saw the video I was very amazed at how young Eric was, maybe 22 or 23 at the time, and have vocals like that. It made him sexy. ha ha. I was amazed, I guess cuz most the young male artists I know sound more like girls. ha ha. Have fun in April.

I just became a (huge) fan a year ago. I have about 20 years on you and honestly don't understand how it took me so long...
Nice story - welcome!
