Comment by Jean-Marie on April 24, 2009 at 1:13pm: Some time ago, I bought the Eric & WAR-period records. I mean on CD:-))) ( my old vinyl-player finally had collapsed, and Eric's work allways was part of my favourite music).
Then, I bought the "Animal" best of. Surfing on You-Tube, I finally discovered "Soul of a man" - wow. I bought the record and listen to it with great pleasure. Great art can only be born through a lot of suffering and pain - pleasure aswell, of course, but great art is a translation of the "completeness" of life, and this is the feeling I get when I listen to this record.
There are very few people in Rock and Pop History who have that "little" something to just blow your mind away. Eric Burdon certainly is one of them .
I'm really looking forward to visit one of his live concerts, especially with the actual band - they are amazing musicians, together with Eric's voice these performances are of very high artistic quality. It's a pity that no tour is planned to Europe, but maybe I can make it to Zurich.
A nice thing would be a live record of these concerts.
