Hi All:
We're not only starting a New Year; we're commencing a brand new decade. What's the very first Eric Burdon tune you want to hear to start this new decade out the right way? I've got to go with "House of the Rising Sun." What's your choice?

I've been a fan since the Animals 1 st came to the USA. It was the only British Invasion band that truly did justice to being a blues band and they did it in an original way that put their own stamp on the music.... Now
Being a little bit of a dreamer I propose putting together 1 set maybe 12 - 15 tunes. Play on the French Quarter streets, or in a small club in the Marigny or Quarter.
Line up as follows:
Eric Burden. lead Vocals / James Cole ( me ) Acoustic guitar- backing vocals…

Way back when I always loved Eric Burdon and the Animals' music and was incredibly "touched" by his "solo" of The House of the Rising Sun and being able to see this film clip within this past week on PBS. I immediately spread the word to my 38 year old drummer-musician son who emailed this me back - "Mom has a crush on Eric! (mind you, I'm 70 years old!!) - those were the days..the 60s and 70s were so good for music. Musicians could actually play their instruments, sing, write their own…

I always loved the music of the British Invasion - but seeing you sing "House of the Rising Sun" on Ed Sullivan blew me away! You were a trailblazer, and with a voice and style way ahead of your time! I have heard that song so many times, but now with new appreciation. I would like to know when you play in or near NYC. Thanks from a new "old" fan.

Wow, I was watching a cable show just now and they had an Ed Sullivan show with the Animals. House of the Rising Sun has always been a personal favorite of mine. Eric's voice and manner are simply mesmerizing. I love the deep resonance of his voice and I did not realize the man who sang it. WOW, he was and is quite handsome. Deep throaty bluesy voice and love the way he looks/performs manly like. A pleasure to watch. Something about those piercing dark eyes, like an old soul...anyway I too love…

On this day, and for the fist time in my life, I encountered the incredibly soulful voice of who I'd like to respectfully address as Mr. Burdon. I happened to be watching some old reruns of the Ed Sullivan show where I caught Mr. Burdon's soul stirring performance of the House of the Rising Sun. I can't get enough. It was and is a masterpiece and musical treasure. After watching his performance, I knew there was something special about him and I became in instant fan. Thank goodness to the…

I, too, have been a fan of your music...and upon seeing the WTTW Ed Sullivan snippets last night, realized that I needed to leave kudos to you, Eric. I am a rocker by nature, System of a Down, Zombie, Disturbed, Cradle of Filth, Tool, NIN, you name it, the rougher, the better. You cut the way for this music to evolve. Your style, vocals, and general showmanship broke the box that others stayed within. Your bluesy style, coupled with your edgy voice was way ahead of society and the time. Many…

Any word if there will be any gigs upcoming at the Coach House in S.J.C? I live a mile away and am having a lot of fun sharing music with my teen daughter (no, you can't meet her). If not there, then perhaps elsewhere in southern California? Yes, I did check in "Tour Dates". Just asking.
