Just read that the fantastic Etta James is terminally ill. Another one of the greats soon to leave us. This woman sure could sing. My sympathies to her loved ones and all her fans. A very sad day.Continue

I didnt know that Etta had passed away. So sad. My friend,she adores Etta tried calling me but didnt know I was in the hospital for the past week. I have cancer but Im never gonna give up. Been playing Erics cover of the song since I got home. I cant count the number of times his music has gotten me thru a lotta hard times. Eric,sir, please get your health together, we still need your passion and that voice. Peace to all and Marianna take good care of your man. He is a gift from the gods.See More

Ralph, I saw one of your comments regarding "Aalon channeling Hendrix". That may have been your perception, but Aalon was and is just an extremely talented showman. At first glance it would be easy to associate a flashy black lead guitarist playing the blues as a Hendrix wanna be. Aalon was much more than that for this band. Other than the legacy Eric stuff, it was all Aalon's music with Eric's lyrics. Aalon was a consummate perfectionist and performer and when combined with the amazing talent of Alvin, the duo made up the driving force behind this incredible band.

I hope he gets better very soon and gets back on tour. He hits me as "the show must go on" kind of man.
Thank you for the kind words. I am truly disappointed about this turn of events. This was to be my vacation. Good News: Andiamo Showroom called me this morning to confirm that this was definitely going to be rescheduled. Unfortunately, I'm just not sure if I can come up with another plane ticket though. I might have to wait the next one out... The stars just weren't in alignment.
