Shocked and infuriated by Robert Christgau

I did not know who he was until last night, although the name sounds familiar somehow.  This "Dean of American Rock Critics" really irked me when I searched up his comments on Eric and the Animals.  Calling Eric "pitch-challenged" was only a start for this guy.  He insulted my intelligence and musical
taste.  I was so shocked that I actually had a dream overnight about bashing him.

Christgau is a nutjob and talks about Eric like he has some personal ax to grind ..Eric has managed to achieve great success despite these reviews. Nobody will remember Christgau  in years to come but everyone will remember Eric Burdon !

Regarding Christgau's commentaries, one must completely ignore that which he writes. He is a dinosaur who desperately needs to validate himself regularly, or he will sink into the tar pits like the rest of his kind. To hell with the critics!

I was almost laughing at this guys posts.  He just trys to point out every single detail,  sound like a real lost man in his lost world.  He can criticize all he wants, but Eric's tremendous success and career are still going strong, now you tell that to the fans all over the world.  Eric is a true talent.  This guy is a true loser.  I pitty him--hahahaha!

I must say that I think Christgau delivers a personal attack that goes beyond a simple bad review. He seems to be a petty, vindictive man who secretly feels powerless so he attacks his victims with unbridled venom in the form of  words. He is probably a rather freakish eunuch who can only dream of being an outstanding man of Eric's caliber !

You're probably right Valarie.  I didn't read but one of 'em.  Most celeb bashing goes through one ear and out the other for me. and it doesn't matter which celeb it is.  I have my own idea about what is good and what is not.  Eric has the vocals that grabs my attention and the eyes that makes my heart flutter.  lol.  I wasn't here in the '60s.  but a lot of the  '50s and '60s stars were pretty boys, type your mom would like you to hook up with.  Eric was so different.  The type you'd want to hook up especially if you got into a  rebellion mode.  lol.

  Hi Ida !  I do feel Christgau is a really perverse and twisted man even as critics go. However, you are right that no critic is going to change my feelings about anyone.  Yes, Eric is the the type who makes your heart race.  He's the walk on the wild side you long to take!  He's a passionate, powerful performer who moves me like the mighty waves and sweeps me away ! What more could any of us ask for?
