Hi all,
This is my first post here and I am actually only trying to find the actual release/recording date of a version of the "House of the rising sun". I have found the version on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78EKn8PWy4c&feature=youtu.be) but I am not really sure under what name Eric Burdon recorded this version (some say The Eric Burdon Band, some say Eric Burdon solo) and on what album (if any) this version was first released.
I have found references to the album "Power Company", but as far as I can find out, there was yet another version of the House on that album.
Can anyone help me with this??
Sincerely,
Marcel

I assume that The Eric Burdon Band is the name of the band under which that version of the song is recorded? Can you also say on which album (if any) this version of the song can be found? Or else in what year the song was recorded?
Sincerely,
Marcel

Permalink Reply by Dragon Lady on September 30, 2012 at 1:08pm I like this version very much

I agree with this being a better version. Don't get me wrong I love the well known version as well but this version is more soulful. It's on "Wicked Man" and if you have seen his movie "Comeback" this songs is also on that.
