Hi RJ: Recently I asked Eric about this because someone had emailed me with the same question. Here is the answer Eric gave:

It was a compilation of voices from the then-current backup singers for Ray Charles at the time. We all know them as the Raylettes. There was no one particular voice. It was a fun recording.

Well,now I know! All these years I thought it was Zoot Money. Wow, what an arse am I. Thanks, Marianna for the info. The vocals are just so good. Eric and the Raylettes. So fine together.
