Fire alarm? What had happened? And how did they handle the situation? I'm sorry for you to hear that the concert had to be cancelled... But it's great that you had a chance to talk to Eric! :-)
oh my god, Once I involved trouble with a bouncer... I wanted to speak with a blues-singer (Karen Caroll). It was in a club, and I met a member of the band, and he helped me... I hope I will get a luck like this, when I go to an Eric Burdon concert!
Yeah..it was a brilliant night. Even the two evacuations caused by the fire alarm didn't spoil the concert. I met him after the show too , in the bar , and he was a pleasure to talk to (didn't have to bribe any bouncers thankfully ;) and he signed stuff and posed for photos with everyone . He even sing an impromptu version of House of The Rising Sun whilst in the bar area, which was amazing to hear. Hope he comes back to Edinburgh soon to finish his set.
Good and bad news at the same time... I suppose this fire alarm thing was as annoying for Eric as for You. I really hope You'll have the opportunity to see a whole concert with him and his band, - they're really amazing.
On the other hand, it certainly was nice talking to our big big man:-))
Cheers from Luxembourg - where the weather's very scottish this summer.

Sad to hear that the concert was stopped by a fire alarm, but on the other hand I am happy that the alarm was faulty, especially as two of my friends (Tigger and Dai) were in the hall. Hope all the people have soon the chance to see a complete show of Eric and his fantastic new band.
Yes vary sad to hear this what happend .Like Ingo sad me to is happy that alarm was faulty-Especially as two of my friends (Tigger and Dai) were in the hall.I hope that will be next time to see hole show .
A wonderfull night indeed, asked him the question why wasnt he playing more often in the uk ,his answer was that the british stabbed him in the back ....what ever that mean...He then said the German loved him so much and were faithfull to him so were the Austrians ......Also mentionned that he is plaing next at Olympia in Paris but couldnt find anything on the website or on the webb ...Maybe someone can confirm how to get tickets?
Hi Fred! I can understand what Eric told! All Austrians and Germans love Eric and maybe the wine tastes also better than
in UK or US. The discussion boards are full when Eric is touring by us. I cann't understand why Eric will go back to the
american desserts where nobody is realy interested in his music!
I hope the next time he will stay longer in Europe and play more gigs also in UK!
Greatings from Salzburg!
Good Times! JoeK

This, I think, is the reason for what he said:
"On December 13 2008, Burdon lost a three year legal battle to win the rights of the name "The Animals" in the UK. Drummer John Steel now owns the rights to the name "The Animals" in the UK only. Eric Burdon still tours the world with his band, as Eric Burdon and the Animals, but is at least temporarily prevented from using the name "The Animals" in the land of his birth and rise to fame, while the case is under appeal. John Steel was a member of the band during its early heyday and left before the band split up in 1966. Steel later played in various reunion versions of the band with Burdon. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Burdon)

Being asked about his reaction to this he answered in an interview:
"My lawyers and management advise me not to make any comment but in one word, I feel hurt! It's what I call soul possession. Let me do a gig one night next to this band, whoever they are. We'll see and hear which one is the Animal." (http://jam.canoe.ca/Music/Artists/A/Animals/2009/01/22/8108566-sun....)

I think this explains why he feels the way he does. It's not the fans, I'*m sure about that!
