Eric Burdon-29th August 2009 live @ "SWR1-Sommerfest" in Mainz/Germany - Gig cancelled due to health-problems!

Sadly Eric had to cancel his gig due to health reasons (circulatory disturbances SWR1 told me on the phone) and is replaced by Level 42 now!

Eric, I wish you a speedy recovery!

The European tour is over now and they all fly back home tomorrow. I wouldn't be too sure that they come back for only one show...

Another gig with Udo Lindenberg, Silbermond & Jan Delay on a ship is in production.......Eric's first US gig is on September 5.....he's also doin a US Tour shortly after....

The Udo Lindenbeg project on a ship is planned for 2010 Julian, but for the gig in Mainz I am quite sure that Eric will play there. I phoned with someone of SWR1 who was pretty good informed about Eric, as he is a fan, too! He told me they are really proud to have Eric on the Sommerfest as his European-Tour would have normally ended earlier! They were positively surprised, too, that he took the offer and plays that gig!

I heard an interview this night on SWR1, Eric said hello and a few words and a few songs by animals were played. Also 3 longer recordings of his early 2005 book tour were played. He sang St.Louis blues, aint nobodys business & little queenie, featuring christoph steinbach on piano....

Ingo, Julian, have another look at the links Ingo posted. Eric is NOT mentioned anymore as a guest of the Sommerfest in Mainz. And it is understandable. Who would fly all the way from the States to Europe for just one gig? Especially after just having finished an exhausting tour through Europe recently. I'm sure things were planned differently, but didn't work out...
