Still on cloud 9 as the concert in Aschaffenburg was one of the best I have ever seen in my life! The hall was completely sold out and the atmosphere was unbelievable! They got standing ovations even during the show and had to wait untill they could continue with the next song! Betti and me were standing in row 1 right before the stage which was very low, so Eric was standing directly before us! Absloutely mindblowing how he lives his music and the power and fun he performs it aged 68. The setlist was similar to the one in Calw. It missed Mother Earth, Spill the wine and Sky pilot and instead of those songs they performed The night and 44, which made the gig a little shorter (85 minutes). As we reached the hall 1,5 hours before the show started, we were one of the first people there. Sadly absolutely no photos were allowed, which was even told to all people again before the show started and so we were not able to take photos, which is very unusuall for that venue, as Betti said she has never seen that happen before in the Colos-Saal/Aschaffenburg.
After the concert some people were complaining they had sold much too much tickets and one could hardly breath during the show and people even leaving because of that or listening the concert on the street before the entrance. Luckily we were standing at the front, where we didn't feel the air was that bad that bad, though I must admitt, it took us a long time to get out of the small hall after the show as it was really so crowded that one could hardly get forward!
BTW: Before the concert I had the opportunity to talk a little with Eric's wife Marianna Proestou who is really very kind and it was fun meeting someone in person whom I knew only from the internet since years.
So anyone who has the chance to see Eric live should take it! He still is in mindblowing shape and his current band is fantastic.
