Do You Like the New Site?

Just wanted to see if you enjoyed all the features of the new EB site.

Hello Spirit Bear,
I understand what You mean - Animals just asked me to give You an answer. You're certainly right with Your comment about what the site is about: Eric Burdon, the Band members and the music, pictures of the concert and so on. I arrived here a couple of months ago because I was searching for information about Eric Burdon - I love the man and his music since I was a child.
Last Sunday me and my wife had the opportunity to be at the concert in Saarbrucken - I took two photographs from Eric and the Band and put them on the site - aswell as some pics from our journey to Italy ...
Now maybe that was wrong, or I did put the pics at the wrong place - I just don't know. Some people asked for the pics before we left, that's the reason why I put them onto the site. If I put them at the wrong place, - sorry for that. I have some problems with computers as I started with this at a certain age, and on a site like this one it is not obvious for me to find out immediately what to do where and when and for whom and for whom not. I hope You understand.

Also, I thought the site was meant as an information site about Eric aswell as a communication place for people sharing their interest in Eric Burdon and everything concerning him aswell as a communication platform for interesting discussions between these people as far as they were interested in expressing themselves. Now maybe these things should be treatened only on "my space" - or by personnal messages, I don't know. I really liked the site because it was so "open..."
Other people wrote personnal things that were interesting, for example Sherry's husband wrote a long review from Jamaica that I read with great pleasure. As long as people don't abuse by becoming nasty, or of bad taste, or try to sell whatsoever - I do not see what should be wrong about exchanging ideas or adventures they are going through. Or photos... nobody HAS to read or look at these pics.
If I'm totally wrong, please tell me. There may be other people around here that - just like I do - want to learn how to come along the most satisfying way for everyone with each other.

Jean Marie, i totally understand the confusion. I think Tigger expresses it very well in her reply. The photos that you uploaded of Eric and the concert trip are very appropriate, in my opinion. The review you mention is also great because it relates back to Eric Burdon in a roundabout way. But i do draw the line at what Animals calls bunches 'of pictures of self' by some techno chick. LOL One reason why it's problematic has to do with the way the photos are displayd. When we upload a photo, it appears on the main page of the site. If that didn't happen, i probably wouldn't mind so much. But personal photos then obscure all the (more interesting to me!) photos of Eric and the band. I uploaded the pictures of Jimi because i know he means a lot to Eric and i hardly ever think of Eric without thinking of Jimi, dating back to a conversation i had with Eric about Jimi over twenty years ago. Gosh, that dates me, doesn't it? LOL

I too, want to get to know more of Eric's fans from far away places and i think the webmaster has done an amazing job of giving us a beautiful and easy to navigate site. With that i send a big hug and 'hello' to all from NYC! :)

Thanks, Tigger! I wondered if that review was still up at the old board. Probably not and i think the one i posted on my personal message board got lost when we upgraded. :(

I do agree with you that i didn't join this site for social networking. Again, imo, that's what 'myspace' and 'facebook' are for. But i will hang in here a bit as it seems EB and the webmaster went to a lot of trouble to create a a beautiful site. Maybe they will make some changes and some (few) rules will be adopted to discourage people from turning it into myspace.

Meanwhile, it's great seeing you here! I absolutely remember you!

My 'uninstal' seemed to go wrong so I complained. You see, I can look at the photos in here without being a member anyway! I remember a beautiful review many years ago! I think it doesn't matter who was here first or who has the best photos - just enjoy them - see you around. Thanks a lot for answering to the discussion. I understand the problems You're talking about.
I don't think the (new) Eric Burdon site could turn into a "low-level social network" as I believe that the reason to get here has to do with interest in Eric, his music and nothing else.
Yet I have to agree with both of You that the problem exists, as the site is that open (to just anything) at the moment.
I hope that the discussion with Animals has more to do with a ( language) communication problem. I did not follow the whole thing that was going on but being a visitor on this site one should know that this certainly is not a place for ridiculous personnal fights.
Since he started, the main message in Eric Burdon's amazing music has been "love and respect each other ".
That's the little big thing to be understood.

Thanks to everyone that you went about this discussion, but I would sincerely like when we on this site was not just socializing, but also the love of music and ERIC BURDON . We are all in harmony that becomes a problem and that some people are not here because of music, but because of something else. I'll continue to post pictures ERIC.I We hope to do those things to solve, but notes that there are rules of this site, but they should be read. Wish me to this site as well as the old site ERIC BURDON witch I like vary much .People please enoyoy like sad TIGGER

I'm miss the music player on this site !! I olways listen music whan I was here. But I hope that webemaster give back a music player or moderators.
