Comeback

Am I really the only person in South Africa that knows this movie?

Why has it not been released on DVD ?

Take it Easy and Bird on the Beach, must rank amongst the best songs never, ever played on our radio stations.

Why is it, that for someone who owns every Zappa, Beafheart, Fugs, Velvets, Mc5, Stooges, Yardbirds, Kinks, Mayall, Mac, Broughton, etc, vinyl records, I keep going back 30 years, to visit the time I first saw this movie, and heard this music ?

Sorry, as you can see, I am new to all this, and my computer skills are not up to speed.

I am playing at a party tonight, so I'll definitely play some Animal tracks.

You can find it on e-bay or
Amazon, but only as a VHS. It's not official on dvd . Yes exits other movies with EB, like 11victim, Gibby Westgermany etc.

Although credited to Eric Burdon ... 'Bird On The Beach' was actually recorded in France in April 1980 by Eric Burdon's Fire Dept.

That band included Bernd Gärtig, J. J. Kravetz, N. Noya, B. Engel, Reginald Worthy, Frank Dietz and Jackie Carter).

Most of the "Comeback" tracks were recorded in the making of the "Comeback" movie more than 12 months later by The Eric Burdon Band in a USA studio in May 1981 (Eric Burdon with Snuffy Walden, Ronnie Barron, Bobby Martin, Tony Braunagle, and Billy McCubbon) as well as in August 1981 in Los Angeles as live scenes for the movie "Comeback".

Other musicians were also credited including John Sterling, Steve Goldstein, Luis Cabaza, Tom Vigil and Terry Wilson (who by then had replaced McCubbon on bass).

Tracks were also recorded at Sins Studios in Berlin in September 1981 (Eric Burdon with Lousiianna Red and Rosa King). In the same month, the USA band was joined by Rosa King and Nippy Noya at The Metropol Club in Berlin to record the final act for the movie. 

Thanks to Dionisio Castello (in his book "Good Times" in 1991) … my source for these recording and band details.

You're lucky man, you've got this book , Dionisio Castello (in his book "Good Times" in 1991) , I have all the books of Eric Burdon issued in his career besides that, I can not get anywhere to buy,I search on e-bay and amazon nothing.
